Marine who earned MOH at Iwo Jima gravely ill

Very sad news out of Jackson, Miss., today. Jack Lucas, a U.S. Marine during World War II who earned the Medal of Honor for his actions at Iwo Jima, is reportedly gravely ill. The youngest Marine to receive our nation's highest military honor Private 1st Class Jacklyn H. Lucas of the 1st Battalion 226th Marines used his body to shield his fellow Marines from grenades at Iwo Jima, 20 Feb. 1945. He received the Medal of Honor from President Harry Truman.

The story is here.

Lucas receives his Medal of Honor Flag from former Commandant of the Marine Corp Gen. Michael Hagee.

Semper Fi, sir.
